Hey egg, buttermilk pancake, and Belgian waffle fans! I have some great news for you! The food chain Eggs Up Grill, which is known for its classic breakfast dishes and is growing quickly, is about to get a lot bigger.
A new development deal just got revealed by the famous chain that will bring seven new sites to the South. Another Eggs Up Grill owner, Conley McIntyre, will run these new locations. He is well known in the Eggs Up Grill family.
There will be seven new Eggs Up Grill places. Six of them will open in Charlotte, North Carolina, and the seventh will open in Travelers Rest, South Carolina. Conley McIntyre is in charge of this growth. He already owns six Eggs Up Grill sites in South Carolina. Late this year, the first of these new places in the Charlotte area will open in Monroe County.
“The greatest testament we can ask for is when existing franchisees continue to invest and believe in the power of the Eggs Up Grill brand,” Richardson said. Ricky Richardson, CEO of Eggs Up Grill, was excited about the expansion and McIntyre’s part in it. “Conley is an award-winning, influential, humble, and loyal franchisee who embodies the spirit of our brand and culture, and we are proud to have him leading our growth in Charlotte.”
Eggs Up Grill wants to grow, and these planned sites in Charlotte and Travelers Rest are just a small part of that plan. The chain has 81 stores in several states right now, such as the Carolinas, Georgia, Florida, Virginia, Tennessee, Alabama, Texas, and Mississippi.
The company has big plans for the future, so the growth won’t stop there. One hundred more sites are being built or will open in the next ten years.
After a time of huge success, Eggs Up Grill is now making this big move to grow. According to Nation’s Restaurant News, the chain saw a huge 25.2% rise in sales and a 20.3% rise in the number of locations from 2022 to 2023. The first restaurant opened in 1997, and franchising began 20 years later.
A lot of Eggs Up Grill’s recent success can be traced back to changes in strategy made after the company was bought by private equity firm WJ Partners in 2018.
The chain started putting a lot of money into tools to help its partners when it got new management, including Ricky Richardson, who used to be president of TGI Fridays.
This company didn’t have much organization or funding, like many that are run by entrepreneurs. “The reputation was there, but we had to put money into those tools and structures to get to our shared vision for the brand’s future,” Richardson told Nation’s Restaurant News in an interview in June.
It’s clear that these efforts paid off. They’ve helped Eggs Up Grill become known as a great place for breakfast and have helped the business reach more people.
It’s not just Eggs Up Grill that’s growing really quickly. Another well-known breakfast and brunch company, First Watch, said earlier this year that it would open 51 to 57 new places in 2024.
The business will also be going into Las Vegas and New England for the first time. In January, Another Broken Egg Cafe announced a deal to open 13 new sites in places such as Florida, Kansas, North Carolina, and Texas over the next few years.
What’s the deal with all this breakfast food? There are several things going on. One reason is that more and more people want breakfast choices that are both tasty and easy to make. As more people put breakfast in the morning on their list of priorities, chains like Eggs Up Grill are responding by offering a wider range of menu items to suit different tastes and dietary needs.
Also, breakfast chains often have lower running costs than other types of restaurants. This makes them a good choice for owners who want to get into the food business.
Eggs Up Grill has a strong brand identity, a group of loyal customers, and plans to grow in a smart way. The future looks bright for the company. If people like the chain’s filling breakfast food, they can look forward to even more places where they can eat their favorites.
Whether you’ve been to Eggs Up Grill before or are just now dying to try their famous pancakes and waffles, one thing is for sure: you’ll have many more delicious mornings!
